Chronic Headaches in Kids Show Improvement with Chiropractic
Headaches can affect children as well as adults. They are common among kids and teenagers. This can be a migraine or a tension headache. Causes can be varied, ranging from minor trauma from a fall or sports injuries to anxiety and stress. Dehydration, working extensively with computers, allergies, hormonal changes and ear infections can all be culprits. Headaches can vary in severity from mild and achy to splitting and throbbing. Identifying the cause can help guide toward proper therapy to get the pain under control. Considering the well-known side effects of pain killers, parents are always looking for conservative therapies to help their children. Now a new study[i] has found that chiropractic can help with headaches in kids. A six year old boy, who had been suffering from headaches for two years without relief when treated with ibuprofen, was able to resolve his headache complaints with neck adjustments to his neck. The process took only ten visits to a chiropractor.
